Taking Root Farms is a place where possibility grows. Founded by two mothers who dreamed of more for their sons and others with intellectual and developmental disabilities, it’s a community where adults with I/DD can learn, work, and thrive—connected by purpose and belonging.

That’s why he’s championing DBG Detroit, a mentorship-powered program where students explore their talents, build confidence, and discover what’s possible. From hands-on support to creative opportunities — including collaborating with a DBG teen on his custom cleats — Derrick is helping the next generation see a future they can truly own.
