The National CMV Foundation
The cause personally affects someone close to Alex—John Spytek, the Raiders’ GM, whose daughter was born with congenital CMV.
The National CMV Foundation leads a nationwide effort to reduce the impact of congenital cytomegalovirus, the leading infectious cause of birth defects and developmental disabilities in the United States. Since 2014, they have brought together families, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to raise awareness, improve prevention, and strengthen screening and care. Their work supports families facing CMV today while pushing for research and policy changes that protect future generations.
